White freestone nectarine (Prunus persica var. nucipersica) developed by Armstrong Nurseries, 1975; also sold historically as "Karla Rose". Chill requirement only 250-300 hours - one of the best chill-hour matches for zone 8a Texas on this list. The bigger risk here is humidity-driven fungal disease (brown rot, bacterial spot) rather than chill or heat tolerance, since it was bred for California's dry climate; standard preventive spray/sanitation matters more in Oak Point's humidity than it would out west.
